It probably wouldn’t appear as dark on someone with darker skin, but I still think the brown colour is flattering on a lighter skin tone. I’d definitely describe it as a darker nude, definitely more along the beige lines. It looks a little on the rosy side but I do think the pair work.

I know ‘Whirl’ and ‘Soar’ are two of the popular liners to wear with VT, and I have no idea why I didn’t get those instead, but nonetheless I think ‘Staunchly Stylish’ is a good match in the Pro Longwear range.

I also purchased a Mac Pro Longwear Lip Pencil in the shade ‘Staunchly Stylish’ to pair with it which I’m wearing in the photo. That was my first experience with a nude lipstick and after that I genuinely thought nudes were NOT for me (but yeah still ended up buying VT a few months later which totally makes sense) Anyhow, I DID like the lipstick and here’s a pic of it on Or at least maybe if I wanted to look like a washed out zombie whose eyes were literally popping out of her head. It was a nude that “would make my blue eyes pop” apparently… Let’s just say that was not the case. Besides I ending up buying Cherish when I was initially searching for VT by recommendation by a store makeup artist. Again, the only reason I did buy it was because of its notoriousity. I knew that it looked amazing on ladies with tanned skin tones like the Kardashian/Jenner girls, but on fair haired fair skinned me I was seriously doubting it would look good.

I wasn’t even sure it would suit me at all. But to be fair, I felt like it was a shade you just have to own. It was only by chance that I asked if it was in stock – at this point I wasn’t even that fussed about getting it anymore. I did however, manage to pick it up in Fenwicks Newcastle one day in May when my parents were visiting me at uni.

So naturally, when I wanted to get it while all the hype was still sky high, I wasn’t able to. As I’m sure many of you know, Velvet Teddy was completely sold out everywhere in store and online. I too must admit that I fell victim to the influence of the media and Kylie Jenner’s perfect lip look but getting my hands on this lippy proved to be a challenge. Yes, Velvet Teddy by Mac was at one point the ultimate lipstick everyone had to have their hands on, and it still remains a very popular shade to this day.

Most commonly known as the lipstick made famous by Kylie Jenner: once her selfies hit the Internet, girls from all around the world hit the stores. And although I know a HUGE amount of product lines, I don’t know them all so if you want to figure out a shade that would work for you that isn’t MAC, you can easily Google the MAC product image and keep that shade in mind at any brand. If you’re in any way shape or form interested in makeup and you haven’t heard about Velvet Teddy, where have you been for the past year?! So while there are SO many brands who make a wide variety of “nude” lip shades, I’m focusing here on MAC because it’s one of the easiest brands to find images of their products (for those of you who love to Google) and because so much “internet beauty talk” is spoken from the MAC perspective (for instance I reference being about a MAC NW47 even though I rarely ever wear MAC foundations). Nude lip color is practically a must-have in every girl’s makeup stash, but if you find yourself baffled because you can’t seem to find a nude to suit your skin tone, this post’s for YOU!
